About Dr. Itamar Botser

Itamar Botser, MDDr. Itamar Botser is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine and arthroscopic surgeries. With an international reputation in the hip arthroscopy field, he is now a part of the Knee and Arthrocsopy Unit at Rambam Medical Centre in Haifa, Israel.

In the year 1995 he started to study medicine in Ben-Guriun University in Beer-Sheva, followed with an internship in Hille-Yafe in Hadera, and orthopedic residency in the Haim Sheba Medical Center in Tel Hashomer, graduating in honor in 2009. Following residency, he worked for nine months in the Shoulder unit in Tel-Hashomer with Moshe Pritch (Pery) and Ariel Oran, and later traveled to Chicago, the windy city, to specialize in hip preservation surgeries.

In Chicago, between December 2009 to June 2012, he participated in a two-year clinical and research fellowship with Benjamin Domb, created the American Hip Institute online-patient followup database and was the director of the research for the institute. During the time in Chicago, Dr. Botser took part in numerous clinical and bio-mechanical studies, and participated in more than 1000 hip arthroscopies, and a couple hundreds of hip surgical dislocations, robotic hip replacements (Makoplasties), knee arthroscopies and shoulder arthroscopies.

Beginning July 2012, Dr. Botser moved to Stanford University, California and started a one-year fellowship in Sports Medicine, directed by Marc Safran. During the fellowship in Stanford he had the honor to work with Gary Fanton, Jason Dragoo and Tim McAdams, participating in many complicated and routine sports medicine cases, mainly arthroscopies of hips, shoulders and knees.
